What happened to his NY accent? All of a sudden he is a southern baptist preacher?What does any of the things he is “preaching” about have to do with the bible? This is why I don’t go to church coz they want to focus on my money. The last church I went to she(the Rev) spent an hour singing songs and then spent an hour talking about tithing. I could have slept in for all of that.
Tithing is about learning to be a giver and learning to depend on God for provision more than your money. A pastor preaching on tithing I think is necessary to an extent, because if people don’t learn how to give from what is dear to them, then that can hinder their relationship with God….not even on God’s end but on the person’s. You yourself said that you don’t go to church but church is necessary because with God its all about the Body. Plus another thing God values is one’s ability to submit. Scripture supports all of this. Yet dont take me as saying to follow blindly….we should take problems to God. He can then by the Spirit lead you to a more wholesome place to praise and worship. Don’t sit in a church if it preaches money all of the time. But again tithing is necessary and scripture says its like robbing God to withhold it. God owns the WHOLE not just the tenth and blesses us with the ability to make money.
First of all tithing is not for today read your bible. Jesus nor his disciples taught on tithing. tithing only benefits the leaders after the expense of the church is paid for. red your bible none of them had bentlys,mansions nor did they quit their jobs so that the saints can take of their lazy butts(yeah i said it) we aint suppose to be preaching to another another anyway. There is only1 gospel and it is to be preached to the lost. Everything done in our local gatherings are not to be centered around 1 person we all have a part in the kingdom thats why it’s called the body. If you are a giver you give naturally not based an a tenth. God rains on the just as well as the unjust. my2 cent.

I am very pleased with Pastor Mason Betha. No matter how many people is presently against him I AM for him. He was hand-picked and chosen to lead this generation. Most of those who talk about him are suppose to be connected and blessed by him. The devil has blinded their eyes for a time, but there will come a time when every person who heard the lie will hear the truth and that time is approaching….

I’m saying, I think there is some questionable ituations as far as cleflo and Mase are concerned but were is the resolution. I’ve heard Cleflo b4 and his sermons aren’t based in money. Mase seems to be hustling but that doesn’t mean that he is a false teacher. If you learn the lessons of God from someone then how would it be false teaching? I’m not defending them. I’m simply trying to promote a resolution to the problem of misguided teachings. Where is the alternative for those that don’t know the difference?

From the things you are saying, it implies that you feel the socialist way of things. You feel the church should take care of the homeless? Though I’ve read about churches who do help the homeless; the more important thing is if these homeless people really want help. Some homeless people have resources to get help, but they choose not to, either directly or indirectly. A good book which talks about both a homeless person and a church who helped them is the Pursuit of Happyness. Mr Gardner was homeless with his son and a pastor helped him with his struggle. And though he was homeless he has become one of the most successful black men in the country. Not to say that there are homeless people who aren’t legitimately in a crazy predicament…but I believe that if they have the will then they wont be for long. I bet you would say the same thing of yourself…you wouldnt just sit there with a cup and sleep under a bridge for the rest of your life. It is kind of the gift and the curse of living in America…you have noone to blame for your success or failure, not to undermine the role God plays in our successes. Peace.

Religion has been used since it’s creation to steal money, control government, and control people. It’s why gay marriage is still an issue in the US and why people blow up buildings in the name of Allah… It’s why people hate other races, cultures and creeds. It’s why (most) people don’t take the time to understand anybody else other than those that are similar to themselves. I’m not against God or believing in a “higher power,” though I question it, I don’t know… What I do know is that, if you give your money to a religion you need to reconsider your BLIND faith and maybe reinvest it in yourself. It’s not about being mad at them for being prosperous cause lots of pastors actually work and earn the things they have and some churches pay their pastors a salary and that’s cool too. The fail comes in when the pastors solicit your money and attach it to a blessing. You taking your broke behind to church being convinced to give up your whole stash cause the pastor told you there was something in store for you. Bullcrap! The only thing, as far as money goes, that you’re required to pay in church, according to the Bible, is tithes and offering. THAT’S IT’! All these mandatory seeds, building funds, bake sales, pastor peddled products (colon cleanse, yes I’ve been to a church where the pastor plugged HIS colon cleanse product)…all these things are an abomination and the people responsible have to give an account for these ungodly actions.
And ignorance is not gonna be an excuse people. The Bible is there for you to read. People need to pray for the spirit of discernment so you can spot a coon as soon as he shows up smiling in your face to take your attention away from his hands in your pocket.
