KOREAN WOMAN INJECTS HER FACE WITH COOKING OIL

This is Hang Mioku when she was a fresh, young lady in her 20’s. Since she has had numerous cosmetic surgery procedures. See how she looks today beneath the jump.

Hang Mioku, now 48, had her first plastic surgery procedure when she was 28; hooked from the beginning she moved to Japan where she had further operations – mostly to her face.

Following operation after operation, her face was eventually left enlarged and disfigured, but she would still look at herself in the mirror and think she was beautiful.

Eventually the surgeons she visited refused to carry out any more work on her and one suggested that her obsession could be a sign of a psychological disorder.

When she returned home to Korea the surgery meant Hang’s features had changed so much that her own parents didn’t recognise her.

After realising that the girl with the grossly swollen face was indeed their daughter her horrified parents took her to a doctor. Once again the possibility that Hang had a mental disorder was raised and she started treatment.

However, this treatment was too expensive for her to keep up and she soon fell back into old ways.

Amazingly, she found a doctor who was willing to give her silicone injects and, what’s more, he then gave her a syringe and silicone of her own so she could self-inject.

When her supply of silicone ran out Hang resorted to injecting cooking oil into her face.

Her face became so grotesquely large that she was called “standing fan” by children in her neighbourhood – due to her large face and small body.

As Hang’s notoriety spread she was featured on Korean TV. Viewers seeing the report took mercy on her and sent in enough donations to enable her to have surgery to reduce the size of her face.

During the first procedure surgeons removed 60g of foreign substance from Hang’s face and 200g from her neck.

After several other sessions her face was left greatly reduced but still scarred and disfigured.

And it would seem that even Hang can now see the damage she has done; she now says that she would simply like her original face back.

  3. Looks like she was actually suffering from Body Dismorphic Disorder, i actually caught this on an episode of oprah once, where people kept thinking they were horribly disfigured when nothing was wrong with their face and kept getting plastic surgery, she suggested michael jackson suffered from the same thing.

  4. bet she was a hit at the halloween party

  7. I agree with Ingred!
    …wat ever he said :S

  8. Man, that’s extra bogus. I feel bad for her, and I’m not the type to feel bad for people, but she seemed so vain about her beauty. All in all she wasn’t bad looking from the original picture, so it must of been the disorder you spoke of that caused this disfigurement to grown. I can’t imagine what she must feel like after being so vain about her beauty and then to be disfigured. Hope she can live a somewhat normal life in the future….

  9. God Punished Her… He Made Us A Certain Way… She Shouldn’t Have Tried To Change Her Face… That’s Her Fault For Following Instead Of Leading…. I Don’t Feel Bad For Her At All…

  10. Wow. I really feel bad for her.

  11. Leather Face and Shit!

    Scary!!!
    Wheww Close my eyes!

  12. It is just sad that seeing people so obsessed on vanity that in the end reaping a result that can no longer be undone and regretful for the rest of their lives.

  13. I have to say this. Doctors who enable such things should be prosecuted. there is no excuse to disfigure someone like that who is mentally off their rocker.

  14. whew!!! scary!! that’s the effect of discontented person.. freaky!!!

  15. wow. interesting story.

  16. To the person who said “God punished her…” I don’t think God punishes anyone. But we do live with cause and effect, and that’s often “punishment” enough. This beautiful woman is simply living with the effects of her decisions. Those decisions were hers to make, and I am grateful that the plastic surgeons eventually realized her obsession and stopped operating on her. The doctor who gave her her own syringe will have to live with that decision.
I think you are seeing things in black and white too much. I wonder what you are struggling with, and how your life would change if you decided to have more empathy for those around you. Just my thoughts!

  17. Oh my God, we should love our body for what it is.

  18. There seems to be an error in the context of this article…

The title states “KOREAN WOMAN INJECTS HER FACE WITH COOKING OIL” but the woman’s name is “Hang Mioku” which isn’t Korean and the captions on the image background is Japanese…

Regardless… that is very very sad…. what people will do~~~

  19. I could sure go for some Korean cooking right now. Thank you once again, grossly disfigured by her own volition woman! :)

  20. good article here…

  21. I know her. I watched her several times on TV. Actually, she was a singer in Korea but not a star like Britney. she always sang a song in bar.(garaoke) she confessed she really wanted to a beautiful woman when she was young. but I think she was pretty and beautiful enough before she had a plastic surgery. Maybe.. she was addicted to it. Her story happened few years ago. -oh, I’m korean.^^

  22. i feel bad for her in a way,but then again dont.i mean shit, she was the one who took it upon herself to inject cooking oil into her face! wtf! she brought this all on herself, but i do feel a lil sorry for her,i mean its a rough life for her now,but if she wasnt so vain to begin w/this wouldnt have happened.

  23. Wow! This reminds me of the Bride of Wildenstein!

How dare you judge her like you are on behalf of God ? You are uglier than anyone in the world !

  25. i totally disagree with this woman’s choices, clearly the end result is horrible. but to say God punished her is absurd. give me a break! how about she is victim or her own bad choices. it irks me when there is any unfavorable outcome (natural disasters, horrible tradegies, etc…) people start talking about God punishing people. how silly can we get?

  26. WHAT. That is sooo crazy. You know people should just be happy with how they are made. loosing fat is ok, but this…..

  27. That is obviously a mental illness……if you are injecting COOKING OIL in your FACE you obviously have serious issues….

    SYM

  28. All of hollywood should see this pic and think twice about injecting anything in their faces. Its a shame what people would do to look younger or more beautiful. People need to be more grateful with god has given them. And to always feel like you have to compete with the next generation or person is shameful!!

  29. Gawd dam woman you fine! Don’t listen to these haters!

  30. she looked good before..its sad when people do this to themselves..it always seems like people who dont look bad want to get plastic surgery..obviously they have a mental disorder because when they look in the mirror they dont see what we see

  31. that is so sad. But, that’s what happens when your addicted to plastic surgery

  32. Wow that is sad, I can’t believe it got that bad before anyone offered to help out. She must have some type of mental disorder to inject oil in her face.

  33. ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww,,,sad

  34. good god..cooking oil. its sad, but amazing that someone can have such a skewed image of their face or body. I wonder what they see when they look at other people.

When I was at a treatment center for addiction, they also worked with patients with other disorders. A couple of them suffered from body dismorphic disorder and it is really sad and must be so difficult for families as well as the individual.

  35. THE PAIN!!!! THE HORROR!
    THE POOR LADY! OMFG!!!!!
    *spontaneously combusts*

  36. From the original picture, I’d totally bang her. Too bad she’s crazy as hell. Why are the hot ones always crazy as hell? I don’t get it.

  37. What a shame, she was very good looking. I hope there will be some sort of a solution for her.

  38. I will never understand the human psyche.
WHY would someone decide to do this to themselves?

  39. This lady missed up her face bad. She shouldn’t of been missing with the cooking oil she injected in her face. She looked pretty in her 20s’.

  40. she was a beautiful young before. It’s unfortunate this psychological got the best of her and physically brought out the worse in her. Truly unfortunate. Hope she gets the mental help she deserves.

  43. It’s amazing how the human mind can obstruct and deform perception. It’s like looking into the funny mirrors at the fairs and not perceiving the actual reflection but continue perceiving the invented and projected image. And worse, she saw even more beauty in the distortioned face. Wow!

  45. Oh My God…she’s scary me…I’ll never never ever do that thing!

  46. God punished her? Some people have twisted views on religion, she injected foriegn substances into her face, God wasnt even watching.

God punished by giving you limited intelligence, then he punished us by giving you a outh and fingers to spread your stupidity with.

  47. Poor woman…I feel bad for her….that level of insecurity about how you look must be terrible – cooking oil!?

I hope they can fix her face properly someday…and I hope people will learn to leave surgery as a last resort only.

  48. oh my gosh.. this is what could happen to the ungrateful human being..

  49. perhaps extreme vanity is a mental disorder in itself… or maybe she’s a sadist… she wants the pain she get from surgery… aaah… that woman’s just difficult to understand, but she did evoked pity in me.. bless her.. :)

  52. So this is what would happen if you mixed Iron Chef and The Swan!

  53. ^^^^ what a dumbass

  54. This is really sad, yes she was very pretty before, but she wasn’t able to see herself that way. What she needs now is people to look pass her appearance and give her the help she needs. Real beauty is within, that what really counts in us all. Those that make comments about God really haven’t a clue what God is all about.
