R.I.P wtf is going on? Mac, Hayes, nearly lost Freeman in a car wreck. Tragic week
R.I.P Issac Hayes.
Seems like we have been saying RIP so much these days. Even though it’s the only thing promised it still wakes you up and let’s us realize that it’s not Promised.
RIP
He was an absolute classic. I love his bling and sense of style. Dignified to the end.
Covered in Chains a Black Moses of music. So many ways shafted by life took music by the throat and turned it this way and that. Soul legend songs from Sam and Dave to South Park. Standing next to Jesse Jackson at Wattstax-having saved the label and reciting the Black Pledege -BLACK URBAN SOUL – hold on I’m coming–now now now dont you ever feel sad baby baybaybaby when times are bad. Blaxploitation to salty balls .
From picking cotton to the one true successor to Otis Redding.Fighting and overcoming bankruptcy-fighting o overcome the effects of a stroke carrying on from Hollywood to Ghana . Moses never saw the promsed land but Isaac did and lived it time after time. In the time of Hair thrust forward his great bald head as the beacon of rhythm chains noting and mocking the past of oppression . With Jackson saying”I am someone…”
Indeed, indeed indeed-Isaac walked on by and we were all lifted.
Thank God for the life and creativity of Issac Hayes, cause without him we wouldn’t have had some of the classic hip-hop songs we have today. “Book Of Love” was used for a Snoop Dogg and a Jay-Z song. I bet he was cakin’ off that sample money until he died
