What is Diddy talking about? I GET it, but he wasn’t looking too good. And, Hancock is NOT the hero be all hyped over. This isn’t new but it needs to be stated.
See why Diddy makes no sense with a few heroes:
Black Vulcan always represented for the Super Friends.
The Brown Hornet was real.

Can’t for get the new Green Latern. He’s a brotha too!!!
Yeah so Diddy must’ve not heard of Storm, Luke Cage, hell wasn’t there a black superhero on X-men ummm Cable or some shit like that.
how is diddy gonna take pride in a drunk hero….at least let that be iron man haahahah
Black Panther’s been around forever.
Diddy needs to step into a comic shop.
all them heroes been around for time, diddy stupid as a mutherfucker he talkin bout shit he don’t no about tht sumthin ignorant people do which leads me to beleieve he ignorant too ayo illseed dont forget my dudes blade an spawn they been round for a minute too spawn slightly shorter but tht still early 90s an tht throughout my life.
an hancock yo foreal tht breah a irresponsible alcholoiic tht a good role model? an even to go 2 this colour thing he couldnt change himself he needed help from a white man to do it
an finally saying fuck superman, batman (now it personal lmao), spiderman an all them, wht cuz they white? so cuz of the colour of theyre skin they aint worthy? thts racisim right there
does Diddy think cussin all the time makes him look cool or something?!! i HATE the way he cusses (probably tryin to claim the hiphop side of him despite all that money he got.. he really doesn’t need to: he produced BIG, that’s enough!)
When is the last time you heard Jay cuss on camera ?
Puffy, you too grown to still be cussin… leave that to the kids
and oh, on that subject, Puff, Jay, Russ and’em are black heroes enough for me, i’m a hiphop kid… those are our (mine at least) black superheroes… from nothing to over $400 million ? if that ain’t some superhero sh!t!!! Ya’ll can have the Batman powers all you want, i take that $400 mill…sh!!!!!!!!t, i probably hire me Batman for my security
aye… how can he remember Wonder Dog, but not rmember Hong Kong Fuey? If he wasnt black, then I dont know what the hell is goin on?… Plus, it was other black heroes that werent as easy to spot like Luke Cage, Black Panther, Black Vulcan, etc… I mean, you gotta see pass the image sometimes… take for instance Jazz on the Transformers. lol!!! i like Hancock, but at some points in the movie, it seemed like he was “coonin” when he was catering to his P.R. manager… like carrying his car to the driveway… lol!!!
i get your point but really how popular r these superheros you’ll never see a major mtion picture based on said heros
one more it seems 2 me that u only get haters and racist people that post comments whatup w/ that
whats jorge talking about? those guys are from the 70s – WHEN DIDDY WAS GROWING UP. You know, the whole premise of diddy’s post was “there were no Black super heroes WHEN I WAS GROWING UP”
Blade – black
Spawn – Black
Storm – black
And just for informational purposes, they are working on Luke Cage/Power Man, but who knows when that’s coming.
[...] By now you have already decided whether you are going to see Dark Knight or not and this review will likely not change your mind either way but I feel like I’d be doing something wrong if I didn’t add my two cents after catching the film last night since I’m a person who is very familiar with the Batman character as I grew up reading all the comics and graphic novels. If hip hop blogger knows Batman, it’s me (and maybe Illseed). [...]
How could you forget The Green Lantern?
yeah, there are black super heroes…but you’d have to search for them…
btw, the black guy from xmen is named bishop…and i think the fact that you couldn’t think of his name only validates the point that the vast majority of heroes are white…
black panther? falcon? come on. no one knows who those guys are. superman, batman, spiderman, captain america, hell even aquaman–these are guys everyone knows (even people who know nothing of comic books). i think that’s the main point here…
i saw hancock. just your average will smith movie, nothing special. but one of the guys i work with said it was awesome to see a black superhero for once. and that’s the shitty hero he gets? i think for him it was just the fact that he WAS black and a hero for a change, instead of having to watch a bunch of white people save the day like they always do.
Actually folks, Diddy was talking about a “Super Hero” in the movies and on TV.
there are NO Black Super Heroes movie/TV shows until now with Hancock.
Consider this will smith has done the almost impossible, he has created a newly minted Super Hero, that started in the movies and not from the comic books as all the other successful Super Hero movies are based on.
At this point local and foreign Hancock has done $400 million dollars and is ontrack to get as high as $600 million. That means Hancock is a super Hero that will then make the reverse travel after DVD release, to the Comic books and to SciFi novels.
I think the executives at Sony Studios will beg and plead with Will Smith for a Hancock 2.
Also, Let me state that Halley Berry as Storm doesn’t count as she got so very little face time if you blinked you missed her.
There should be more black superheroes and superheros of every race. I know they exist but they don’t get movie deals like them big famous white guys……i suggest A static shock movie. Superherooooo static shock….whoop whoop
There’s a bunch of black super hero links here:

well where do i began…didn’t get a chance to hear what diddy was saying but i probably can guess some “bullshit” as always and money is not everything if you dont have knowlegde of self and your history you are just another oppressor..why do you think we were the last chapter of slavery, yes i said it last chapter of slavery because we weren’t the first slave but the last so we can end all types of slavery…as for no black super hero he is right none of them have powers doesn’t mean that they are not heros or role models……I’ll leave you all with one last thing to ponder on, if we know, well most of us that the colour white reflects the rays of the sun how does superman have is powers and no blacks, asians, indians, natives kryptonians all white……am i scientist and we know Melanin is the key ingredient for survival on this planet and the main and only key for absorbtion of the rays of the sun and it is what makes black and keeps us safe from the harmful rays of the sun,so scientifically speaking superman cant be white,he would have possess a higher degree of melanin in his body, which would make is skin tone non-white…now if kryptonian are all white and they have powers, what kind of powers would a person of higher melanin content or black kryptonian possess……….you tell me!!!!
i’m profiling Black Female Superheroes on my blog. I’ve got 70+ so far.

Diddy sounds sauced!
I personally always saw John Stewart’s Green Lantern as my favourite black superhero.
I suppose he’s right to an extent in the typical form of the term “superhero”, this is where everyone says define one, sure there’s no perfect definition, but I see it as like spandex wearing, flies off it’s you, not some source that can be removed.
So I suppose John Stewart gets removed from that equation as his power is from his ring. I mean with Superman, he was born with his power, Spiderman was bitten by a radioactive spider, all the X Men were mutants so if was human evolution. So I say Diddy’s right TO AN extent. This is just my interpretation of superhero.
And I think people are talking about Bishop when they’re mentioning a black mutant.
I hate when people talk this nosense. I have have reading comics since I was 5!!
Diddy please,stick to music.
You intelligent people named PLENTY of Black heroes!!
And to make things worse,he is cursing like some uneducated dope, which makes his inaccurate, idiotic ranting even worse.
Good Grief,Even if you never read a comic, but watched TV you knew Black Vulcan,Hell, you even had the “Super Harlem Globetrotters” on Saturday morning.
Let’s not forget Mr.T!
Anyway,I close with this.Superheros go beyond color! It is a matter of fighting the good fight and righting wrongs. I never thought for one second I could not be Spider man because I was Black!
