That is because no matter how much of it you kill in the body, there is always some hiding away in normal looking cells that will not be affected. It will wait until you are done treating then come out and infect again. This really isn't even a very significant finding. At best, it may lead to a new class of drugs to treat hiv but it will not kill those virus particles hiding away in normal cells. Noone will ever kill those.
